Safeguarding

At Dubai College, safeguarding is not just a priority; it is at the very core of our community. We are deeply committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment where all students feel secure and valued. With a strong ethos of safeguarding at every level, we ensure the highest standards of care are embedded into every aspect of school life. 

Our immediate safeguarding team includes a DSL, two DDSLs, a dedicated and experienced Heads of Year team and our safeguarding governor. With three school-based counsellors, and a medical support team, we are able to provide a wraparound service to the students in our care. Building effective links with outside providers enables us to strengthen our provision and widen the services we can offer on site. Together, we create a supportive, vigilant environment where students’ wellbeing is continuously monitored and cared for. 

Each year, we provide thorough safeguarding training for our entire school community, including staff, students, parents, and governors, ensuring everyone understands their role in maintaining a safe, supportive atmosphere both in the real and online worlds.

Recognising the unique challenges of the digital age, we offer specific training in online safety. This program educates all stakeholders on the potential risks of the online world, empowering our community to navigate digital spaces responsibly and securely.  

Our commitment to safeguarding extends to our recruitment process, with rigorous checks in place to ensure the safety of all members of our school family. Additionally, every student participates in annual safeguarding training, reinforcing their understanding of personal safety and fostering a sense of responsibility towards one another. 

Safeguarding is woven through every policy, our assembly programme and forms a foundational element of our Rolling Positive Education Programme (RPEP), creating a school culture where safety, respect, and wellbeing flourish. We are proud to be continually striving towards safeguarding excellence, providing an environment where students can grow confidently, knowing they are protected and supported through every step within the confines of Dubai College.
