Digital Skills
The digital skills curriculum at Dubai College is meticulously crafted to equip Year 7 & 8 students with a diverse set of creative and practical abilities. These skills are designed to be applied across various subjects within the broader curriculum.
Year 7 Introduction Students begin Year 7 with a comprehensive Office 365 bootcamp, ensuring a smooth integration into the Dubai Microsoft ecosystem. This foundational training minimises technical learning barriers and familiarises students with essential platforms like MS Teams, OneDrive, and Outlook.
Content Creation Focus Dubai College emphasises the importance of students becoming proficient content creators, not just consumers. To support this, we offer an ambitious unit on video production and editing using Adobe Premiere Pro, complemented by lessons on dual coding theory through the creation of educational infographics in Adobe Spark.
Year 8 Challenges Year 8 presents a new set of challenges, starting with a comprehensive 10-week Microsoft Excel program, as requested by our alumni. This is followed by advanced video editing projects in Adobe Premiere Pro, culminating in a unit that enhances research skills through Microsoft PowerPoint, setting the stage for the Higher Project Qualification (HPQ) in Year 9.
