We celebrated our first Term 1 Screen-Free Reading Superstars with a special event, recognising students who consistently choose reading over screens and promoting a balanced approach to technology, with more celebrations planned throughout the year.

In Term 2, DC Physics Society delivered hands-on learning experiences, celebrated Physics Olympiad success, and continued to grow membership and interest in the physical sciences across the school.

Over three demanding days in the Umm Al Quwain desert, 22 students completed their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award practice expedition across challenging dune terrain in 34°C heat. The experience tested resilience and teamwork, leaving students stronger, more self-aware, and better prepared for their qualifying expedition.

Dubai College hosted the History Bee & Bowl on 7 February 2026, welcoming over 200 students from across the UAE. Our students achieved excellent results across all divisions, demonstrating impressive historical knowledge and teamwork.

It has been a fantastic term for the Dubai College Maths Department, with success across the DC Olympiads, Dubai Maths Super League, and Estimathon. We are especially proud of our prize winners and look forward to our Senior Mathematicians competing in Vienna at ISMTF.

The Arabic Chef Competition celebrated creativity, teamwork, and Arabic culture, with students impressing judges through their skill and collaboration. It was a successful and memorable event for all involved.

In February, the Parents’ Fund supported multiple departments with new equipment, including sports, music, SEND, chess, art, and digital resources. Students are already benefiting from these opportunities, highlighting the real impact of parental generosity.

As part of KHDA’s campaign to plant 20,000 trees across Dubai, the DC Sustainability Club planted a tree outside the canteen on 5th February 2026, marking the first of ten new trees around the school. This initiative supports biodiversity, environmental education, and the college’s goal of creating a greener, cleaner campus.

Term 2 was a highly productive period for the Computer Science Society, with active clubs, impactful student-led initiatives, and major achievements including international robotics success. Looking ahead, the society is expanding opportunities through partnerships, project funding, and new workshops to further develop students’ computer science skills.
