and an associate member of the European Council of International
Schools.
Fees
Fees

Transport
Pupils
come from a wide area, and a fleet of air-conditioned buses are provided
to carry those requiring transport to and from all parts of Dubai and
the neighbouring emirate of Sharjah. The bus fee is a ‘flat rate’
regardless of distance. It should be stressed that this is not a
door-to-door service; setting down and picking up points are determined
by the number of users in a particular location.
Uniform
The
school uniform consists of a white shirt or blouse with the school
badge, navy blue trousers or skirt, and plain black shoes.
Sixth
Formers wear a distinguishing blue shirt. There is also a College
sweatshirt, swimming costume, PE kit and sports bag which along with all
the other items may be purchased locally. “House” polo shirts are
available form the Heads of House at the school.
Pupils
are expected to present a neat appearance in both dress and personal
grooming.
Jewellery
and other valuable items including mobile phones and MP3 players should
not be brought to school.
Full
details are contained in a booklet which is issued to parents of new
pupils at the start of the school year.

Governance
Under
the terms of its Emiri Decree, Dubai College is a non-profit making
school, administered by a Board of Governors drawn from prominent
members of the local community. The Board decides all matters of policy
relating to the school, which are implemented on a day-to-day basis by
the headmaster and bursar.
Health
The
school’s nursing staff will provide treatment to pupils who suffer
minor injuries or who are taken ill during the school day. When pupils
require further treatment or are unable to continue at school, parents
will be contacted.
Ministry
of Health regulations require that all pupils undergo medical
examinations. These are carried out on school entry and in Years 9, 11
and 13 by the school doctor, along with the school nurse who will be in
attendance throughout. There will be a once only charge of Dhs. 150
towards the cost of all medicals.
