Extra Curricular Activities
Many of the activities are sporting ones, but there is also a good
choice of others. There are many opportunities both during lunch time
and after school for involvement in a comprehensive programme of activities.
Whilst not being compulsory, pupils are strongly encouraged to take
up at least one activity which often leads to House and/or school
representation at competitive levels. Lists are sent home at the beginning
of each term for parent’s information, as activities change from term
to term and from year to year, depending upon demand. Pupils are asked
to suggest new ones which would be of interest to them, and if a viable
group can be formed, and a leader found, the Activity will go ahead.

Activities take place at the lunch hour, or after school. After school activities commence at 3:30 p.m., finishing at 4:30 p.m., in time for pupils to use the ‘late bus’. If an activity cannot be held and is cancelled, it will be posted on the notice board outside the School office. It is the responsibility of the pupil then to contact parents or driver to make alternate transportation arrangements as necessary.

House Events
There are a large number of House events during the year in which your son or daughter may take part. Parents are warmly invited to attend these events, and in particular: the Cross-Country, Sports Day and the Swimming Gala, details of which appear in the termly calendar. Separate invitations are not issued.

Personal, Health
and Social Education (PHSE)
Students receive one PHSE lesson per week. This lesson is rotated through the week.
Support
If pupils are known to have some difficulty or special requirements in
relation to lessons, we ask that parents notify the appropriate Head of
Section. Where pupils have a specific learning difficulty, the school
will recommend that additional support be given, for which there will be
an extra fee. Support is organised by Ms. S. Birch.

Private (Peripatetic) Music Lessons
Instruction in a variety of instruments - piano, strings and woodwind - is available in school. The fee is
Dhs. 950 per term for a minimum of 400 minutes tuition. To avoid disadvantaging other study, pupils are extracted from a different lesson each week.
