Rugby

 

 

 

Rugby is one of the College’s main sports and is played throughout all years during the first two terms. The teams have enjoyed tremendous success both within the UAE and further afield at 7, 10 and 15 a side versions of the game and are a dominant force within the Arabian Gulf region. Many of our boys have gained International honours through representing the AGRFU and Under 16 and 18 level, whilst 3 past pupils have gone on to full international honours, by either representing the region in the IRB 7s World Cup or the Asian 5 Nations Championships.

 

Squads

The College runs teams at every age category up to 1st XV. The Under 12, 14, 16 & 18 teams compete in the UAE Schools League during Term 2, whilst all the same squads compete in a number of tournaments throughout the year, including the Dubai College Rugby 7s in November and Dubai College Rugby 10s in February, which is the largest schoolboy rugby event of its kind in the region.

 

Training Times / Days

• Under 12 & 13 (Junior Rugby) – Wednesday afternoon (3.45 – 4.45pm)
• Under 14 & 15 (Intermediate Rugby) – Monday afternoon (3.45 – 4.45pm)
• Under 16 (Senior Rugby) – Sunday afternoon (3.34 – 4.45pm)
• Under 18 (1st XV) – Sunday / Wednesday lunch. Tuesday afternoon (3.45 – 5.15pm)
