To Download The Dhow Alumni Magazine:

Click on the image above to download the Dubai College Alumni 2009 Dhow magazine.  The file is about 4.1MB, so we recommend that you save it onto your hard drive first, before viewing it.

To save the file onto your hard drive, click on the image with the right-hand mouse button (control-click on Macs) and click on 'Save Link As..." (or "Save Target As...", in Explorer).

Alternatively, if you click on the image and the magazine opens in the Adobe Reader Plug-in within your browser window, you can save the file onto your hard-drive by clicking on the 'Save a Copy' icon (on the left) in the Adobe Reader Plug-in toolbar.

 

To View The Dhow Alumni Magazine

The Dhow alumni magazine is provided as a PDF, so you will need Adobe Reader version 6 or later to view it.  You can download Adobe Reader free of charge from the Adobe website.

We recommend you read the magazine in Full Screen mode.  To enter Full Screen mode in Adobe Reader, either:

1. click on the 'Full Screen View' icon in the bottom left hand corner of the Adobe Reader program window, or
2. hit Control-L (Command-L on Macs), or
3. click on 'Full Screen' in the 'View' menu.

NB: If you view the magazine in your browser, using the Adobe Reader Plug-in, Full Screen mode will not work correctly as it will only fill the browser window, not your whole screen.

Once you are in Full Screen mode, to step through the pages of the magazine, either:

1. use the keyboard arrows - right arrow or down arrow to go to the next page; left arrow or up arrow to go back to the previous page, or
2. use the 'Page Down' key on the keyboard to go to the next page, and the 'Page Up' key to go back to the previous page, or
3. click on the left mouse button to go to the next page, and click on the right mouse button (Shift-click on Macs) to go back to the previous page, or
4. hit the Return key to go to the next page, and Shift-Return to go back to the previous page, or
5. hit the space bar to go to the next page, and (on Macs only) Shift-space bar to go back to the previous page, or
6. hit Control-Shift-'Page Down' (Command-Shift-'Page Down') to skip to the last page, and Control-Shift-'Page Up' (Command-Shift-'Page Up') to skip back to the first page.

To exit Full Screen mode, hit the Escape (Esc) key, or Control-L (Command-L on Macs).

If you prefer, you can print out the Dhow magazine before you read it, however given that the picture resolution has been optimised for viewing on screen some of the images may look a little blurry when printed.  If you do print out the magazine, remember to scale the pages to fit your printer margins, in the printer options dialogue box.
