A government initiative has been to “broaden” the Sixth Form Curriculum. Therefore, if you wish and subject to numbers (priority must be given to 'A' level choices) you may choose a further course of study. Before so doing please consider your workload and allow time for PE, Music, Drama, Duke of Edinburgh’s award, community service etc., all of which the universities see as indispensable for that “well rounded” candidate they are seeking.

If you plan on taking three 'A' Levels your workload is already 15 modules per week and 20 modules for a four 'A' Level student. Previously all DC Y12 students took either 3 or 4 A Levels as above plus General Studies A/S for a further 3 modules.

HOW TO CHOOSE AN A/S

After considering your choices for your A Levels and AS Levels you may click here to fill in the form.

CHOICE A
If you are taking three A Levels then you will be ‘free’ in one column from A B C D. If then there is a subject in the ‘free’ column that you would wish to take at AS level, and if there is room in the group (remember AL candidates have priority) then it will be possible to join that group.

Assessment will normally be in January and June.

You will have 5 taught modules per week.

Further information is available from the relevant HOD.
